Well! I have put it off for as long as I can, but now that I have frequented the blog of some of my closest friends, I am actually kind of interested in trying this.
First I want to make sure you REALLY know who I am. HAHA! Going to get in-depth here. I AM MORMON. It's the best thing that has ever happened to me. I was baptized Januaray 17, 2010. But! I grew up in the church a little bit.
Good ole Thomas S. Monson. He's our prophet today.
And of course Joseph Smith, whom restored the gospel on Earth!
While I have been in High School, it has been my experience that people don't really care what you believe in. As long as you hold true to those values that make you different, you are still accepted. Granted, they might tease a bit, but if you take it all in good measure, people are usually indifferent to it. That's the beautiful thing about Lindbergh, there are so many crazy people that there is no definition of normal from which you can be alienated. Speaking of Lindbergh....
I GRADUATED!
I swear, it really almost didn't happen. and now that it has, I kind of miss my friends. Hopefully we won't drift too far apart.
I started out my senior year credited as a junior. Horrible. BUT with the help of a friend of mine...
Sandy Cato, her son Peter, and daughter Isabell.
Mrs. Cato helped me with motivation in school and with dealing with teachers. She has inspired me to best the best I can be. She's showed me that even though I may doubt my own talents and skills, they are still there, and that it's okay to stumble and fall sometimes, but that you HAVE to get back up. And that it's never to late to stop running from past mistakes.
While my other dear friend...
Jeanelle Shaw. (Such a babe!)
She's helped me grow spiritually and emotionally. She is such a strong and daring woman, exactly the kind of woman that I someday wish to become. She's kind and loves basically everyone, and is so delightful and engadging. Everyone who gets to know her cannot help but fall in love.
Me and my cousin. Her name is Carmen, and I love her so much. We are very much alike.
I adore my family. We may be slightly (a little more than slightly) disfunctional, but we stick together, and when hard times fall on any of us, we're all there to help. For example, My Ada J (grandma) was diagnosed with lung/brain cancer. (Doc says 99% of her beating it) When she wound up in the hospital, there were 18 family members in her room alone. Not counting all the ones in the waiting room.
Me, Carmen, and Ada J.
So now-a-days I am working a temperary job with my Dad, and sort of liking it. (I like the people, just not the work.) And trying to stay true to the gospel, and letting my light shine. I am one of those, one day at a time kind of people, and for now, I am just hoping to get a laugh out of each one that goes by.

Girlie! I'm so glad Jeanellie told me about your blog! This could, seriously, be one of those "I Am a Mormon" ads. You did a great job as your first post and I'm glad you're staying true to your values. I'm also glad you have great people in your life. Keep up the good work (blogging AND in life!). xoxo
ReplyDeleteI am so honored and touched to have made your first ever blog entry. I'm incredibly grateful to have you in my life. Knowing you is truly a blessing. So proud of you for living the life that you are and for being an amazing person and missionary. Oh and also for being a stellar ninja. I have much to learn from the master.
ReplyDeleteOkay so this is really good and I'm waiting for more :)
